Restoring and Enhancing Your Smile

At Toledo Dental, we strive to improve a patient’s appeal and oral function. To do this, we utilize quality, aesthetic materials made to mimic the appearance and structure of real dental enamel. Depending on your needs, we offer replacement teeth (prosthetics) to restore any cosmetic or decayed teeth. These treatments include:

Crowns – Patients with severely decayed teeth require root canal treatment or large fillings to save the natural tooth. Once the decayed material is removed and the tooth is cleaned, a dental crown replaces the top portion of the dental enamel, the part of the tooth above the gum line.

Decayed teeth are weak. With a crown, however, this restoration can re-enforce their strength with durable porcelain, ceramic, or porcelain-fused-to-metal. Crowns protect teeth from further tooth decay as well, thus saving healthy tooth structure and roots.

Bridges – Fixed dental bridges replace teeth that have been extracted or lost. These restorations can fill the space of one missing tooth or replace a group of multiple missing teeth. Bridges use dental crowns to support the fake tooth (Pontic) to give you a complete smile. Missing teeth can make it difficult to speak and eat; with a dental bridge, our Toledo restorative dentists can improve your oral function

Composite Fillings – For small instances of decay, also known as dental caries, it is important to treat these spots before they develop into larger cavities. Composite fillings fill the decayed enamel with tooth-colored resin. Unlike traditional metal fillings, white fillings do not have the concerns of mercury and is a better choice for a more aesthetic treatment.

Porcelain Veneers – Known to be a purely cosmetic treatment, veneers can actually replace dental enamel that has been broken or chipped. This restoration is a less invasive option than capping the tooth with a porcelain crown.
